HearthSignal
Ask once. Keep the answer.
Give a household purchase question somewhere to go. Ask the people who need to weigh in, see their responses, and keep the outcome with the question instead of starting the same conversation again.
01 / Ask
Turn a household question into something everyone can answer.
“Would we buy this detergent again?” “Do we need these storage bins?” Start with what the item is, then add a question, notes, a store, price, or photos when they help explain it.
Send it to the household, or choose specific people. A Signal is about a real decision, not a new conversation to keep up with.
02 / Respond
See where the household stands.
People who can respond choose Yes, Maybe, or No, with an optional note. The Signal shows responses by name and summarizes the counts. Open questions appear under Waiting for you for someone who still needs to answer; the person who asked can see their open Signals and whether responses have come in.
Responses help the household decide. They do not automatically choose an outcome.
Yes, Maybe, or No is a response.
The purchase decision comes next.
03 / Decide
The answer becomes part of the household record.
When it is time, a person records the outcome: Bought it or Didn't buy it. The Signal then shows Bought or, in the list, Passed. It can also be reopened if the decision changes.
The response and purchase outcome stay together. Marking a Signal Bought records the decision only; it does not add a Money expense.

04 / Remember
You shouldn’t have to remember the same answer twice.
After a decision, look under Bought or Passed to find recent Signals. Open one to see its question, the responses you can access, and the recorded outcome. Archived Signals have their own view, too.
This is a way to revisit what happened, not a change-by-change audit log or a promise of universal search.
In the store
Questions don’t stop when you get to the store.
In an active HearthRun trip, use Ask with HearthSignal to ask about a find. A trip-linked Signal can appear with the trip, even before it becomes a Shopping item; item-linked Signals show with their items. The shopper can see a waiting state, response summary, or Bought / Didn't buy outcome and open the Signal for detail.
Asking does not add a find to the list or make the decision for anyone. The shopper stays in control of what goes in the cart.

Context when you need it.
Why it matters
Household memory should be shared, not trapped in someone’s head.
The next time a purchase comes up, the people with access can return to the question and see what was said and what was decided. Fewer repeated questions; less guessing about the last answer.
Kids is included with HearthStack Household
Include them when the question is theirs too.
Children can participate in a Signal only when explicitly included and allowed access. Adults choose whether to include children in a household question or select a particular child. A child profile does not automatically receive access to household Signals.
Supervised Kid View does not contain HearthSignal. Child participation uses separately configured child-safe access, not unrestricted access to the adult app.
